Kolkata, May 19, 2026: Just days after the Bhabanipur victory, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari launched a sharp attack on alleged corruption, directly naming properties linked to Trinamool Congress leader Abhishek Banerjee — popularly known as “Bhaipo” — and warning that those involved in plundering Bengal will soon face arrest.
Speaking at a felicitation ceremony in Ward No. 63 of Bhabanipur on Monday evening, Suvendu stood on Camac Street — the very road where Abhishek Banerjee’s office is located — and presented a detailed list of properties owned by several individuals close to the previous regime.

“I have requested files from the Municipality. I have held discussions with the Department of Urban Development and Municipal Affairs, as well as the Commissioner of the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, regarding four specific individuals,” Suvendu said. “You cannot even imagine the extent to which these people have plundered Bengal!”
Abhishek Banerjee 24 Properties List
While addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Suvendu presented the following properties list:
- Raju Naskar of Beliaghata owns 18 properties
- Sona Pappu of Kasba owns 24 properties
- Abhishek Banerjee’s firm “Leaps and Bounds” holds 14 properties
- Abhishek Banerjee owns 4 properties in his name and 6 in his father’s name — making it 24 properties in total
- Javed Khan’s son owns 90 properties
“You cannot even imagine how much these people have plundered Bengal,” Suvendu said. He warned that just like others already in jail, all corrupt people will face arrest under the law.
Firm Stand on Infiltrators and National Security
The Chief Minister also sent a strong message on the issue of infiltrators. “The BJP government will undertake the task of safeguarding the nation. First, they were ‘detected’ in the voter list. Next, they were ‘deleted’ from the voter list. Now, the time has come to ‘deport’ them!” he asserted.
He further claimed that his assumption of the Chief Minister’s post has created more unease among the “Jamaat across the border” than among the opposition parties within the state. “I am not a man to be intimidated,” Suvendu added.

In a major public step, Chief Minister Suvendu also launched Janatar Darbar (People’s Court) on the same day. This is part of his big anti-corruption and people-friendly initiative.
On the very first day, Suvendu met around 50 people in private. The majority of complaints came from victims of various recruitment scams and meritorious candidates who were denied government jobs despite clearing exams. All issues raised will now be officially documented and forwarded to the concerned departments for prompt action.
Graduate teachers also attended the Darbar in large numbers. Souren Bhattacharya, State Secretary of the Greater Graduate Teachers’ Association, highlighted the pay disparity:
“At the central government level, the difference in basic pay between graduate and post-graduate teachers is ₹2,700. In West Bengal, it is only ₹1,200. The state is paying graduate teachers around ₹6,500 less compared to central standards.”
Another teacher, Manab Das, reminded the Chief Minister that while he was Leader of Opposition, Suvendu had visited their protest site and promised justice. The teachers had also secured a favourable High Court order, which the previous government failed to implement.
Upcoming Engagements
The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit Uttarkanya in Siliguri this Wednesday to hold a high-level meeting with administrative heads of seven districts. He will subsequently travel to Bankura.
